CREW CREATION

Starting

Step 3. Determine Characteristics & Leadership

To play a game of Hallowtide, you will need a crew of four hunters. These are individuals driven by idealism, revenge, dogma, or simple greed to track and slay the horrors that prey on humanity.

In this guide we will beyond the pre-made characters found in the Quickplay to give you everything you need to create your own crew of Rank 1 hunters by following the steps listed below.

Attributes are used for tests, while Characteristics are the basic qualities of a hunter that are usually a set value or based on their rank.

Background Matching Project (1).png

All hunters start at Rank 1, are Size 2 models, speed 5, Damage Threshold (DT) 6, and Stress Threshold (ST) 7. These values can be modified by talents.

Once you have finished up all your hunters, select one to be the leader. The leader gains the following talent.

Leadership: At the end of activation, as long as this hunter is not shaken, they may heal 1 stress along with all allies within 6” and LoS. Should this hunter gain the Panicked condition, all allies within 6” suffer 1 Stress. If this hunter is incapacitated, all allies within 6” suffer 2 Stress.

Step 1. Choose Homeland

Hunters come from many different regions and backgrounds on Korvast.  The grizzled survivors of the Woloc Frontier value strength and endurance above all esle, while those the Reckoners of the Crucible emphasize speed and cunning. A well rounded crew often features hunters of different backgrounds who compliment each others strengths and offset weaknesses.

You may select a homeland for each hunter or roll randomly. The choice will set a hunter's basic attribute levels and grant a unique talent that reflects the region.

Step 4. Buy Equipment

A hunter may be strong and skilled, but without the proper tools — they are easy prey in these haunted nights. Black powder and sharpened steel are often the only allies a hunter can count on when things go wrong. Still, a potion at the right time can be the difference between a hard-won victory and an ignoble death.

Each crew of four hunters starts out with 80 silver or 20 silver per hunter. A list of common items is provided in the equipment section. Items higher than IL 3 cannot be purchased at crew creation.

Step 2. Select a Class

Homeland reflects a hunter's upbringing, class determines their training and skills. A rogue learns to move in the shadows and strike with precision, an alchemist studies the uses of volatile chemicals, and a zealot uses their faith to push their body past its breaking point. Although they approach the mission in many different ways, all hunters are united in their struggle against the dark.

Select a class from the section below or roll randomly for each hunter. Each class comes with a specific talent that helps to further define their role in the crew.
